Pastor Luke continues his series about the Good News that the early church experienced — the Good News about Jesus that the Apostle Paul summarized at the beginning of 1 Corinthians 15. Paul was taught the most important things to know about Jesus by people who’d spent three years following Jesus around the Holy Land, and when he passed on what he learned, Paul began with the word Christ. Why is that important? How is it “Good News?”

Pastor Luke begins a new series this week called “News Not Advice.” Imagine we could somehow clear away everything we know about Christianity from the past 2000 years. Imagine instead we could put ourselves in the group with Lydia outside Philippi (Acts 16) or the philosophers atop Mars Hill (Acts 17) when this odd Paul guy showed up with a strange message he called “the Good News.” What would it be like to hear the Good News that way?
